A deeply personal beginning
Before BodySeasons existed, there was first and foremost our unfulfilled wish to become a family.
BodySeasons did not begin with a business plan. There was simply my wish to stand by my wife. I wanted to help her understand her cycle and her body more clearly, without making her feel pressured, judged, or left alone with one-size-fits-all advice.
Cindy, Daniel, and a deeply personal beginning.
We are Cindy and Daniel. Our story does not start with a business idea, but with a long and deeply personal chapter in our lives.
Before BodySeasons existed, there was first and foremost our unfulfilled wish to become a family.
Endometriosis and recurring adhesions around the fallopian tubes turned our wish for a child into a long, difficult road full of appointments and setbacks.
An initial course of fertility treatment did not bring the result we hoped for. We talked about adoption and assisted reproduction, and later tried again with specialist support.
It took a long time, but eventually we were able to become parents to a son. We remain profoundly grateful for him.
Along the way, we learned how many physical connections remain invisible in everyday life. Cycle, hormones, sleep, stress, pain, and life stage can shape how easy or difficult a day feels. They do not explain everything or take away anyone's agency. But knowing personal patterns can make feelings and needs easier to place.
The next challenge was approaching. We looked for a helpful cycle calendar that connected observations and made complex relationships understandable, without judgement or constant pressure to optimize.
We could not find a calendar that matched that idea. So Daniel, a software developer, began building one himself. What started as a personal diary for Cindy gradually became BodySeasons.
BodySeasons began as something deeply private. It is the diary for my wife, whom I love more than anything. That continues to shape every new feature in BodySeasons.
Our goal is not to reduce every experience to hormones. BodySeasons brings knowledge and personal observations together so that greater self-understanding can create genuine breathing room.
Women were historically not represented adequately in parts of medical research. Conditions specific to women and questions related to the cycle are still often under-researched or difficult to access in everyday language.
There is often no understandable middle ground between medical literature, a well-meant 'Try yoga', and constant pressure to optimize. BodySeasons is designed to support that middle ground.
A cycle can influence mood, energy, sleep, or the experience of pain. BodySeasons helps reveal possible patterns without dismissing feelings or turning them into rigid rules.
BodySeasons is not an anonymous large-scale project. Through us, personal experience and technical implementation remain closely connected every day.
Her own story
My experiences with endometriosis, a long unfulfilled wish for a child, significant weight gain during pregnancy, and several intolerances awakened a deep need to finally understand my own body better, especially now, before the next major stage of my life. My story does not stand for every woman. But it shows that support must truly help in daily life and not merely sound good. I wish I had discovered much of what I now know and understand about myself far earlier.
The mind behind the technology
Because my wife uses BodySeasons herself, it matters deeply to me that the platform not only works smoothly but protects her and your most intimate body data as carefully as possible. The medical context does not, of course, come from me. We rely on a curated knowledge model built from nearly 300 carefully reviewed specialist sources and guidelines. My job as a software developer is to connect this complex research technically so that it supports Cindy and you every day with dependable, practical guidance.
There are no investors behind BodySeasons pushing for profits, simply Cindy and me. That keeps us flexible and the price fair for you.
I develop BodySeasons entirely myself through my company, ProjectMakers. From the idea and programming to the technology, everything happens at my desk. That keeps communication direct and lets us implement what truly matters.
Because I already operate my own servers and backend systems, BodySeasons runs directly on technology I know and trust. We do not need to buy expensive external platforms and can remain independent.
We have no investors breathing down our necks. The core app is and will remain free. Anyone who wants more can support our work and continued development through fairly priced Premium features.
No tracking, no advertising, no selling data. Our core services run on our own servers, and we choose external partners very carefully. We protect you through our own technology, consistent encryption, clear data flows, and one firm rule: we store only what is truly necessary.
BodySeasons is designed to help women experience their body as neither an opponent nor a puzzle. Not through pressure, but through knowledge, observation, and the right to decide what feels helpful in their own daily life.
BodySeasons supports personal documentation and orientation. It does not provide diagnoses and is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment.
